Flowering Trees in Boise
Oregon Trail
One of the things I've wanted to see, after reading books about the pioneers who traveled west in wagons, was the actual ruts that are still visible in many places along the various trails. Suzanne and I went out to the Oregon Trail and we walked in the ruts which gives one a lot of respect for the stamina of the people who walked there, especially as you look out over the valley and see the high mountains in the distance to the west. Of course, my brother's comment was, "How can you be sure the ruts weren't made by the trucks of the men who put up the power lines?".
Quite A Cook
Tasty Treats
While I was in Boise, Nora and I attempted a new skill. We decided to try to make petit fours which included making new recipes for butter pound cake & fondant as well as having to make leaves and flowers. This is the result. We were pleased with the result and learned both things to do and things to do differently. I consider that a success.

"Shock" Ties "Brewer's United"
Up early for a soccer game. Nora is a mid-fielder and has enjoyed playing for the past five years. I'm in Boise so she could go to her game while the rest of the family is in Eugene, Oregon where Tam is running a marathon tomorrow. Can't believe I'm related to so many athletic people. Stopped off at both the Eagle Saturday Market and the Boise Saturday Market, both part art and part farmer. It was only 38 degrees when we left the house this morning.
