Nora Enjoys Volleyball - 2011-12

Nora (15) participated in volleyball at East Junior High this year and had lots of fun with her team-mates and coach.  Going for treats afterward was an added bonus for me when I visited.

Florida Trip - April 2011

My first trip south on my own without mom or another sidekick went well. I visited with friends then walked the beaches on Sanibel and Captiva for a week. It was relaxing and I now have lots more shells to show for my efforts and no more calluses on my feet.

Sharing some Holiday things

Since I'm sharing crafts, here are a few of my Christmas things. The button tree is for my dining room during the holidays, the Merry Christmas embroidery piece is going somewhere, but I didn't finish it until after Christmas so I can wait until next year to decide.

The silliest thing I made . . .

This is one of several bean bags I made, just for fun. I guess to throw at your guests if they say something nasty about the food.

More fun things for my table!

I've also made a couple of other things for my table. The round mint coverings are to scatter on the the table and then eat or send home as favors. They are the individually wrapped pattie kind. The flowers are to be filled with cream mints and nuts at each place setting.

I've been waiting for Spring so long that I've started all sorts of Easter/Spring things to keep myself busy. The little chickens and rabbits have a fold wrapped egg inside of them resting on the base to keep them stable. I'll use them as place favors on our Easter table. I saw them at a craft store in Beaver Dam and came home to try to figure out how to replicate them. They make me laugh, a good thing since we had several inches of ice pellets yesterday. Luckily I purchased my supplies while it was only raining and sleeting
